Monitoring Your Files PDF Print E-mail

Photojunction keeps its proxies tucked away in a safe place but, as the owner, you have full control of the original high-res files.  Photojunction keeps an eye on what you do with them...

You can cause problems by moving folders, changing folder names or moving, renaming or even editing files:

  • When you export your high-res Output files for printing, Photojunction might not be able to find them.

  • When you export your high-res Output files you could discover that you’ve been happily designing albums etc on the basis of proxies that are now out of date.

To avoid those problems, whenever you open the Event Window (or use the Export or send Order Wizards) Photojunction checks to ensure that your high-res images are still as they were when you imported them to the event. If the images are missing (they’ve been moved or renamed) or they’ve been edited subsequently, Photojunction displays a warning symbol on the image in the thumbnail view. Roll over the image and an explanatory message appears.

Right-click on the image and you can fix the problem:

If Photojunction detects that high-res images have been edited since they were originally imported, you can right-click to reimport them, which recreates the proxy images so that they once again match the originals.

If Photojunction can’t find high-res files - maybe the files have been inadvertently moved or renamed - you can right-click to Browse to relocate them.

If a FOLDER of high-res images has been moved or renamed, click the More Button  at the top left of the window and select Re-link High-Res Folder.

If you prefer, you can select Remove from Event. This deletes the proxies but does not touch the original high-res.
