You can start an album design from the Project Browser or the Event Window. You can open and edit an album from the Start Window, the Project Browser or the Event Window. The Album Layout Window’s primary function is to display the layout you’re currently working on, so you can edit it.
Controls on the Album Layout windowOn the Album Layout itself you can select apertures, resize them by dragging their corners (as in the graphic, above left - vendors can turn this function off) and/or drag them to different positions on the layout. Once you’ve selected an aperture (or apertures) you can perform many other operations on them. Most of these functions involve the Tools Window, and are dealt with on the pages that follow, but there are a few buttons at the bottom of the Album Layout Window itself. Reading from left to right... The leftmost button lets you change the scale of the image anywhere between 25% and 200%. The 100% scale is great to check cropping etc. “Fit to Window” changes the scale so that the album layout fills the window, no matter what size it is. “Keep Fit in Window” makes it stay that way, even when you resize the window. “Fit to Screen” enlarges the window to fill the screen, and scales the layout to fill it. The centre set of arrow buttons allow you to navigate through the album a layout at a time, or to the first or last layout. (The first layout is the album cover). The two right-hand buttons allow you to delete the current layout, or add a new layout before or after it. Finally, note that Photojunction keeps track of the number of apertures (or images) in the album.
High-res export warnings
Once you have created exports for a layout, Photojunction displays a green check mark (tick) to show that the export is up-to-date, or a red alert symbol to indicate that it is out-of-date (ie the layout has been edited since the export was made). If an export is out of date you should re-export before attempting to Send Order. Aperture warnings
Photojunction displays an "!" icon in the bottom right-hand corner of an aperture to indicate the existence of warnings related to its image (eg the image is missing – generally renamed or moved – or has been edited since the proxies were created). You can mouse over the icon to display the specific problem. This warning also appears in the Event window, as you can see in the graphic. You should always resolve image warnings before attempting to export or the results may not be as intended. Click here for more about image warnings. Finally, as you can also see in the graphic, Photojunction displays a padlock symbol if an aperture is locked. Layout and aperture notes
You can write notes related to either the current layout or an individual aperture by right-clicking and selecting Add/Edit Layout (or Aperture) Notes. Photojunction shows that a Note exists by displaying an "i" icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the aperture, or the bottom left-hand corner of the layout. You can mouse over the icon to display the note. |
