How to design a Queensberry album in Fundy and upload the layouts

Fundy Designer provides Queensberry resources and lets you design a Queensberry Flushmount album, export the finished print files and upload them to Workspace for ordering.

Fundy does not replace the Queensberry order. Workspace remains the place where you define the album, upload the layouts and complete the order.

This workflow is for Flushmount albums. Matted albums cannot be submitted as finished third-party layouts. For a matted album, use the Workspace Album Designer or Queensberry Design Service.

Confirm the album specifications before designing

Before you begin, decide which Queensberry album range, size, orientation, page or layout type, printing method and number of layouts you intend to order. These specifications determine the required file dimensions and whether you need single-sided pages or double-page spreads.

You can create the matching Workspace order before or after designing. Whichever order you choose, make sure the product selections in Workspace match the Queensberry product and design you used in Fundy.

Choose the matching Queensberry product in Fundy

  1. Create a new album project in Fundy Designer.
  2. Choose Queensberry from the available album companies or lab products.
  3. Select the product and size that match the Queensberry album you intend to order.
  4. Confirm the page or spread structure before beginning the design.

If a Queensberry product or size is not available, update Fundy and confirm the required specifications before continuing. Do not use another company’s similarly named product as a substitute.

Design and review the album

  • Keep faces, text and important details away from trim edges and the centre fold.
  • Use Fundy’s guides and review its image-resolution warnings.
  • Use the Loupe tool or another full-resolution view to inspect important images.
  • Check the first and last layouts, including any blank sides required by the album structure.
  • Confirm that the design contains the number of layouts selected in Workspace.

Export the print files

Open Fundy’s export menu and choose Export for Print. This creates print-ready layouts for upload to Queensberry through Workspace.

  • For a print-ready Queensberry order, export high-quality JPG files.
  • Choose the colour profile for the exported files. Queensberry recommends Adobe RGB (1998); sRGB is also accepted for supported printing methods.
  • Use 300 DPI and export as pages or spreads according to the page type and printing method selected in Workspace.
  • If you are requesting Queensberry colour correction, use Fundy’s PSD export workflow and confirm that the resulting layouts remain editable and unflattened. Queensberry cannot colour-correct flattened JPG layouts.

Fundy’s Export for Web and web PDF options are intended for viewing or proofing, not for production. Upload the print-quality export to Workspace.

Open every exported file and check its dimensions, sequence, colour, crops, text, image quality and centre fold before uploading.

Upload the layouts to Workspace

  1. In Workspace, open Albums. If you have not already created the album, create it now and choose Third Party Software as the design method.
  2. Make sure the album specifications match the design, then continue to Upload Layout Files.
  3. Upload the exported JPG or PSD layouts, individually or as a group.
  4. Wait for the upload and processing to complete.
  5. Check that the files are in the correct order and that the number of layouts matches the Workspace album setup.
  6. Review the album details and layouts before confirming and submitting the order.

Workspace can check whether the required number of files has been supplied, but it cannot verify every production specification before Queensberry receives the order. You remain responsible for dimensions, resolution, colour profile, file type, sequence and safe placement.
